Lesson 16: Bullying & Grief
Hi AY Family,
In our world today, there are a lot of people who are being bullied.
According to research, bullying is the repeated, intentional use of physical, verbal, or social actions to cause harm to another person who is perceived to have a power imbalance.
There are all kinds of bullying, and they need to be addressed so that we can move on because God does not want us to remain being bullied, but He wants to deliver us from it.
However, He can only deliver us from being bullied if we do two things: Talk to someone about it and forgive the person who bullied us.
A lot of times, we think that talking to someone about the situation means that we should just go to one person and if we do not get the help and support that we need, that's it.
However, we should keep telling people about the situation until we get the help and support that we need.
We do not realize that keeping our emotions in causes us to be physically sick.
As human beings, we also think that we should get even with the person who bullied us or if they are no longer in our lives, we should continue to be angry towards them for what they did to us.
However, we do not realize that holding onto anger and unforgiveness also causes us to be physically sick.
God wants us to love our enemies.
Matthew 5:43-44 says: “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
