Lesson 25: Sexuality & Marriage
Hi AY Family,
In our world today, there are people who are in the LGBTQ community.
Have you ever heard of Pride with the 6-color rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple)? That's the LGBTQ community.
Pride is a conscious choice to be proud of one's identity, replacing historical shame and societal disapproval.
L stands for Lesbian. Lesbian means denoting or relating to women who are sexually or romantically attracted to other women, or to sexual attraction or activity between women.
G stands for Gay. Gay means being sexually or romantically attracted to people of one's own sex (used especially of a man).
B stands for Bisexual. Bisexual means being romantically, emotionally, and/or sexually attracted to people of more than one gender, not just men and women, and not necessarily at the same time, in the same way, or to the same degree.
T stands for Transgender. Transgender means people whose internal sense of gender (gender identity) differs from the sex they were assigned at birth, based on physical traits like genitals.
Q stands for Queer. Queer means denoting or relating to a sexual or gender identity that does not correspond to established ideas of sexuality and gender, especially heterosexual (sexually or romantically attracted to people of the other sex) norms.
The Bible clearly tells us that we should not try to change ourselves because we are the temple of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 says: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
