Lesson 5: Fellowship
Hi AY Family,
1 Thessalonians 5:11 says: “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
Church fellowship involves comforting and encouraging one another during difficult times, sharing what God has done for us, and praying with one another.
Being a part of a local Christian fellowship, we quickly learn that it is okay to shed tears of joy, conviction, remorse, or sorrow in the presence of other believers as the Spirit moves.
When we are overcome by emotion and tears well up in our eyes, it may be difficult to stop them from flowing no matter how hard we try.
It is normal for us to resist the urge to cry when we are in the presence of others, but it is important to express our emotions, instead of bottling them up inside.
Many times, we are afraid that people will feel uncomfortable around us when we cry, but when others see our brokenness, it can lead us to have a closer connection with them.
Will you resist the urge to bottle up your emotions? Will you not be afraid of what others will say about you? Will you express your feelings to others and let your tears flow? Will you use this as an opportunity to have a closer connection with others?
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
