Hi AY Family,
The Lord had to be at the center of the ministry of the early church and the Holy Spirit needed to be the One leading and guiding them because if the people trusted in themselves to do the ministry as the early church, then there would not be a godly early church in the first place because it was the Lord’s work, not theirs.
They were just His mouthpiece and His hands and feet.
Acts 9:31 says: “Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.”
