Lesson 11: Be Generous
Hi AY Family,
Matthew 25:21 says: “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
A man gave one of his servants five talents, another servant two talents, and another servant one talent.
The one that had five talents got five more. The one that had two talents got two more.
But the one that had one talent hid his talent.
Matthew 25:24-27 says: “Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: and I was afraid, and went and hid my talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.”
God does not want us to just focus on ourselves and not care about others, but He wants us to think about them and be generous to them.
He does not want us to keep our gifts and talents to ourselves or hide them, but He wants us to use them so that we can be a blessing to others and share His love with them as well.
Are you willing to be generous to others with your time and resources? Are you going to hide your talents, or are you going to use them to be a blessing to others?
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
