Lesson 27: Exposure to False Worship
Hi AY Family,
DISCLAIMER: From when I was 9 years old to when I was 14 years old, I went to a non-denominational Sunday Church and every time I went there, I would be exposed to speaking gibberish, the drums and bass guitars, dancing, raising hands towards the flag of and praying for Israel, putting your hand on all the chairs, and false healing.
Playing drums and bass guitars is even happening in the Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
Psalm 100:1 says: “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.”
People might interpret this verse to say that we should play drums and even bass guitars in church, but God does not want us to play those kinds of instruments in church because they are not glorifying Him.
He knows that those instruments cause us to jam to the music instead of hearing the Holy Spirit speaking to us.
God wants us to play peaceful instruments like the piano or acoustic guitar so that we can hear the Holy Spirit speaking to us.
There is a difference between playing music to gratify ourselves and playing music to hear the Holy Spirit speaking to us.
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
