Lesson 6: Forgiveness
Lesson 6: Forgiveness
Hi AY Family,
Matthew 5:44 says: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
We should love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us.
We should treat them the way that we would want to be treated.
Matthew 7:12 says: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”
It might not be easy to love our enemies and treat them the way that we would want to be treated, but that is what Christ wants us to do.
When those who wanted Jesus to be crucified really hurt Him physically, He did not say a word to them, and before He died on the cross, He asked the Father to forgive them.
Luke 23:34 says: “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them: for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
Will you love your enemies? Will you bless those who curse you? Will you do good to those who hate you? Will you pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you?
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
