Lesson 4: Having God as Our Friend
Hi AY Family,
Hebrews 13:5 says: “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
God does not want us to be covetous of what other people have, even in our conversations, but He wants us to be content with the things which He has given us.
We know that He will protect us and be there for us because He is our refuge, strength, and a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 says: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
We should not be afraid because God will hold our right hand and He will say to us, “Do not be afraid. I will help you.”
Isaiah 41:13 says: “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
We need to put God at the center of the relationships that we have with others because when we do so, everything will go smoothly with no problems because He is the One leading and guiding our relationship.
Will you have conversations with others that are encouraging and uplifting? Will you leave behind covetous conversations? Will you be grateful for what you have? Will you put God at the center of everything, even your relationships with others?
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
