Lesson 4: Having God as Our Friend
Hi AY Family,
John 15:14 says: “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”
We are God’s friends only if we do what He commands us to do. If we do not do what He says, then we are disobeying Him and cannot be His friends.
Abraham was called God’s friend because he believed in Him.
James 2:23 says: “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”
God calls us His friend when we believe in Him.
When God is at our door, He is knocking and waiting, so He can come in. After we listen to Him knocking and open the door for Him, He will come in, and He will eat with us, and we will be with Him.
Revelation 3:20 says: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Will you do what the Lord says? Will you believe in Him? Do you want to draw closer to Him? Will you listen to Him knocking? Will you let Him come into your heart today?
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
