Lesson 1: Loving the Forgotten
Lesson 1: Loving the Forgotten
Hi AY Family,
Matthew 25:35-36 says: “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.”
The verses say that we should feed the hungry, give those who are thirsty something to drink, bring strangers into our homes or help them find shelter, clothe the naked, and visit the sick and those in prison.
We should help other people in need. This is how we can show love to the forgotten.
There are people in the world who help other people and think that God would be pleased, but that is just not the case.
He would not be pleased because they are not doing it out of a genuine heart, but instead, they do it because they want to get money, something in return, or recognition. It’s better to help others from a genuine heart than one that is not genuine.
When was the last time you saw someone in need and helped them as well? How have you shown love to the forgotten? Has your church reached out into the community to love the forgotten ones? Has your family done anything recently to show love to the forgotten ones? Have you personally been motivated to show love to the forgotten ones?
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
