Lesson 7: Empathizing with Others
Lesson 7: Empathizing with Others
Hi AY Family,
1 Corinthians 12:25-26 says: “That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”
When you see that someone is crying or feeling down, and you open your arms to them if they accept hugs, you can feel the way they cling to you and tell you that they appreciate it.
It might cause you to start crying inside because it really has an effect on you.
Especially when it is your first time experiencing this, your eyes might not be able to stop burning or shedding tears because you can see how much the other person is hurting.
When you realize that you do not have the words to say to the other person when they are hurting, ask the Lord about the person’s situation as well as what you can do to help them.
When you see that someone else is hurting, ask the Lord to help you to be the friend or sibling that the other person needs.
Sincerely,
Samuel Reid
