SERMON 7: Empathy
Read for This Week’s Study: Isaiah 41:6; Matthew 5:4; Romans 12:15; Romans 15:4; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; and 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
Memory Text: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Isaiah 41:6, KJV).
When you see someone crying or feeling down, and you open your arms to them, if they accept hugs, you can feel how they cling to you and tell you they appreciate it.
It might cause you to start crying inside because it affects you.
When you realize you do not have the words to say to the other person when they are hurting, ask the Lord about their situation and how you can help them.
When you see someone else is hurting, ask the Lord to help you be the friend or sibling the other person needs.
