SERMON 10: Fasting & Lamenting
Read for This Week’s Study: Psalm 69:10; Psalm 94:3-5; Psalm 102:1-2; Psalm 130:2; Isaiah 58:6-7; and Matthew 6:16-18.
Memory Text: “When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach” (Psalm 69:10, KJV).
God wants us to fast and lament to Him.
Fasting does not mean that we should show our sad faces to people so that they know we are fasting, but it means that He wants us to do it in secret.
Lamenting does not mean that we are complaining to God about our problems, but it means that we are giving our problems to Him because we do not know how to deal with them.
